NUEVA GENERACION and BETTER OFF DEAD shared the stage several times and a friendship was born. The idea of this split came after a show in Montreuil in september 2018, one year after this 7" was out. Both bands have the same passion and the same commitment in the DIY punk scene, proving that DIY is also a great human adventure. NUEVA GENERACION hails from Murcia, southern Spain, they released another split 7" with MARMOL from Bilbao just before this one. BETTER OFF DEAD from Angers France spread here their third recording in a year with a new line-up. You should definitively dig this record if you like punk-rock infused with sensibility, energy and clever messages. Comes with a great engraving artwork by Kroquette, the one and only.

Hiding underground since their 2016 demo, Bordeaux' own defenders of the d-beat faith Bombardement have been leaving a trail of destruction that's second to none. Pounding the world like a battering ram and deadly as a viper, their debut LP races through 8 new tracks at breakneck speed with high octane. You're in for surprise, you're in for a shock. Euskal rage ! HONDARTZAKO HONDAKINAK came to life in 2011 in the northern part of Basque Country. Straight from their demo they caught the attention of many of us, delivering an impressive amount of noise and distortion. "Bruiarta" is their first full length and the trio made the most of it bringing new influences and more diversity to their sound. 80's UK punk will come to mind listening to the catchy and powerfull intro of this record but it's only one of the numerous and inspired aspects this piece of vinyl has to offer. The record comes with a nice bookled in which the shouted basque lyrics are translated in various languages. The artwork is a nod to their country of origin with the desire to be far from any punk cliché or pose. It's a corelease with Solar Funeral from the US.
Between closed mines, abandoned factories and grey buildings rises DELETÄR. The city of St Etienne has been home of one of the most active french local punk scene for several decades. DELETÄR is one of the very few d-beat acts coming from the hexagone. This is their first album, get ready for 10 tracks of pummeling d-beat hardcore in the likes of TOTALITÄR, SKITKIDS, HERÄTYS and the likes, with some slight stadium rock to Burning Spirits elements. DELETÄR is made of current en ex members of LITIGE, STATE POISON, VOMIT FOR BREAKFAST, MOMS ON METH … It has been recorded and mixed their practice space and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Exactly one year after the release of their first 7’’, ANNEES ZERO does it again ! Lille incendiary quintet has built a strong reputation taking no prisoners in their live acts. These representatives of a ripped and fallen world are back with a new 7’’. This new record is an alloy of rage and emergency in which the band didn’t fear to bring new influences (expect some more noise and disturbance). The incandescence spreads itself in these five pissed off hardcore tracks. The band uses these words to explain its approach : « At our own pace, we are moving forward and we are stripping ourselves to live at best in this disastrous and hostile world, and always against it. » It's a corelease with No Glory. 500 copies on black vinyl.
It has been years in the making ! After several represses, reissues, release projects and ideas that never came out, something big is finally about to see the light of day. Early June, Destructure along with Stonehenge are releasing the long awaited Amanda Woodward collection records. Taking the shape of three LP, it gathers all the previous official releases as well as some unreleased alternate / demo versions of tracks that you've never heard before. Amanda Woodward started late 1999 in Caen, Normandy. The diy punk scene there at that time was a dozen of enthusiastic kids playing in several bands each. From the ashes of SOAR, SEASON and ALCATRAZ, they started something whose goal was to defy everything they've done before...
Only a couple of months have passed since the release of their first album and BETTER OFF DEAD are back with a new 7". This record opens a new era for the band. Beyond the line-up change, "Sans Issue" is the first BETTER OFF DEAD recording sung in French, and the music goes forward their previous efforts. These four songs are tense, catchy and heady without losing the great sense of melody and the personnality we used to like the band for. Some of you who saw BOD during their last euro tour may remember these songs. This 7" was recorded by Franck Neuman who also plays drums in BITPART. The nice cover art was done by frontwoman Kroquette once more and was screenprinted by Jon Ol'Dirty Hands. BLEAKNESS had the opportunity to record demo of new songs before leaving on tour with FOTOCRIME last september and to release a tape containing half of this session. This demo is a promising draft as these songs will be re-recorded hopefully soon for a new record. This recording get to the point, it is raw but its a new proof of the band ability to look deeper in their identity, sharping their music again. These four songs are both dark and energic, there is a particular feeling in them like in the hypnotic. "Persistent Inadequacy" or in the instrumental "Remedy the Unease" for which they invited Samuel Frin to play saxophone. This session was recorded by Anthony Gandon in Nantes and mixed by Jacky Spector in Brest. As usual, it comes with a great artwork by Jerome Sztuka Wojny.
This album is dedicated to native Americans, to their History and their fight. Our lyrics talk about their History but also their stories, and about their extermination under colonisation. We can't pretend knowing or even imagining what this people endured, what they've been through and what their descendants still experience nowadays. Also we don't think that this album will change anything. But we hope that through our simplified, romanced and vulgarized lyrics, we could take part (at our scale) in getting this topic (often forgotten and deliberatly avoided or turn into derision and entertainment) better known. It is also possible to read in between our lines a reflection on our nowaydays society, and this feeling of fury and despair that a lot could feel facing the today's world and its progress and development by any means necessary.
Here we go again with a band from Lille, risen from the still burning ashes of TRAITRE, KRONSTADT is a new band from this really active punk scene. The ease option would be to compare them to their previous band but we won't. KRONSTADT offers some great punk-rock, heady and melancholic but also straightforward and catchy. A bunch of French punk bands from the 80's may come to mind while listening to this as well as more recent stuff but don't get wrong, KRONSTADT is nothing else but KRONSTADT. This 12" gathers anger, disobedience and urgency. KRONSTADT is also a band which succeeds at this hard task which writing french lyrics. This is a corelease with Une Vie Pour Rien, Senseless acts of Anger and Les Âmes d'Atala.
Lille has been the birthplace of so many great bands these past years. We've already released a couple of records with bands from this exciting punk scene (SHORT DAYS, GUTTER…), ANNEES ZERO is a quite new band coming from the darkness and the filth of a bitter world close to explode. The band consists of current and ex members of great bands like SHORT DAYS, SEVICES, KRONSTADT It's a tense and enraged kind of hardcore which blows up to your face. The french lyrics are pissed off but definitely humans, dealing differend aspects of a fucked up society. This 5 7" is their second effort, after a demo tape released last year. It was recorded by Sam D. Hyde and mastered by Dead Air Studio. It comes with a nice artwork made by our friend Hugues Pzzl.
Welcome on the journey, "Taking trains" is the first BETTER OFF DEAD full lenght. This trio involves long time punk activists from Angers, France. BETTER OFF DEAD plays some kind of dynamic punk-rock with a melancholic touch here and there. Listening to these nine songs, other female fronted bands like LA FRACTION, POST REGIMENT or SIGNAL LOST may come to mind . Some melodies, guitar parts and bass lines may remind you recent peace-punk bands like 1981 or SURRENDER. Anyway, BETTER OFF DEAD develops their own identity on this LP. Lyrics treats various subject like religion, masculine behaviour, the need of travel... from a very personnal angle. The record come with nice artwork drawings by frontwoman Kroquette. We're really happy to be involved in the corelease of the second ZONE INFINIE album. We loved their first effort and every time we saw them live it was a blast. With "Rester et Fuir", ZONE INFINIE pick up where they left off, sharpening their identity and making a great step forward in their sound, music and lyrics. The music can we described as melodic and melancholic punk sung in French but it's much more than that in many ways. ZONE INFINIE is ZONE INFINIE and nothing else, that's why we love them so much. Their lyrics are inventive, touching and they will be carved in your head from the first listening. Comes with a great artwork by talented artist Yvan Brun.
The trio strikes again, a couple of months only after the "Ruined Fate" 7", BLEAKNESS went back to the Swan Sound Studio to record four songs. During this short length of time, the band has managed to flesh itself out. Basically, the formula stays the same but it's brought to the upper level. This 12" is a concentrate of punk-rock driven by inspired guitar melodies and rough vocals. Whether musically or lyrically, passion and sincerity are really tangible in this band. This record comes in the shape of a one-sided 12" with a great silkscreened b side and cover arts by our friend Jerome Sztuka Wojny. It's a corelease with Kink and Sabotage Records in Germany and La Agonía de Vivir in Spain.
"Relentless" is the long awaited YOUTH AVOIDERS second album. The five years between this new full lenght and their debut have been really intense for the band, made of constant live appearances everywhere around the globe. Intensity is the trademark of YOUTH AVOIDERS, "Relentless" is the fruit of a five days session in the Normandy countryside studio Swan Sound. To keep it simple, "Relentless" is YOUTH AVOIDERS making what they have done so good so far but even better : catchy riffing, rich melodies, inexhaustible drumming, sharp vocals... The band has also raised the tempo, these 11 songs go at an unrestrained pace. "Relentless" well bears its name !
SHOCK from Bordeaux (France) is some pure essence of disgust and resentment. This first vinyl effort delivers 5 venomous hardcore tracks combining heavy parts, noisy riffs and high speed tempo. It's violent, raw and dirty, SHOCK is taking you down to the darkside of human nature. Expect some bitter and disillusioned lyrics (most of them in French) which grealty participates to create a very singular atmosphere. SHOCK features members of bands from the very prolific and inspired Bordeaux scene like Gasmask Terrör, Hondartzako Hondakinak, Fraude, Bombardement... Artwork by Mathieu Freak City who also sings in the band.
GUTTER is a quite new band from the very prolific city of Lille, northen France. There is a lot of great bands coming from there since a couple of years. GUTTER released a cool demo last year and we were very enthousiastic when we heard these new songs. This first vinyl effort is a 7 songs 12" of distorded and bitter hardcore with a sour 80's aftertaste. GUTTER develops a very personal kind of anger and despair. The quartet has been compared to the recent wave of UKHC bands or to Boston bands but for us it's just a great fucking hardcore band done with sincerity. This 12" is a corelease with our friends Build me a Bomb and No Glory records.
Here is the vinyl repress of the MAREE NOIRE demo we released last autumn. Their first recording is now available on a 7", 4 songs of implacable d-beat hardcore emergency. These guys music and words sound like a response to an oppressive and crushing world, a frank and direct blow. MAREE NOIRE is made by some (still young) punk veterans who played in an impressive number of bands and still play in bands like Better Off Dead, Bleakness and Syndrome 81 just to name a few. Expect some disillusioned vitriolic lyrics in French. It's another Destructure release recorded and mixed at the great Swan Sound studio by Guillaume Doussaud. The regular cover is a dark and realistic drawing by Barcelona based tattoo artist Sztuka Wojny but we've also made a limited "Détruire la France" cover edition that should leave no one indifferent…
LITIGE is a great punk-rock band based in Lyon, these 3 girls and this guy bring something very fresh and inspiring, sung half in French, half in English. The demo was already really good, the shows we've seen were awesome and we could not miss this and offered to help them release their first vinyl effort. "Fuite en avant" contains 8 great punk-rock but not the boring kind of punk-rock. The vocal parts are inspired and lively. The social / personnal lyrics are very original and well-written. It's a record that you shouldn't miss.
"Béton Nostalgie" LP is a collection of songs released on various EP and split records. It will be out in time for few more shows early November. 18 songs from their Demo, Litovsk split, UVPR compilation song, Desert Urbain, BMAB single serie and Urban Savage split. It is coming in a gatefold jackets with awesome drawing by All Cats Are Grey.
Bleakness is a new band from Nantes (France) playing punk-rock infused with melancholic post-punk guitar melodies. Lyrics about fear, despair, system oppression sung with a rageous rough voice. « Ruined Fate » contains 4 songs originally released on a limited demo tape for local shows entitled « Ruined Tape ». These songs were recorded by the band at Swan Sound studio, mixed by Antoine Gandon from the band Heavy Heart and mastered by Daniel Husayn from Red Dons. Original drawing on the cover by Barcelona based tattoo artist Sztuka Wojny, gold screen printed on black paper by Henri-Pierre of Galactica Editions. Limited LP version of that great album that was orinally released on tape only. Stricly limited to 100 copies since the band is gone now. DEFAITE was a band from Lyon, with ex members of bands like Lexomyl, Telecommande, Overmars, Coche Bomba..., they did a demo and 7" before this album.
Short Days hails from Lille, nothern France. They've released a bunch of ep's getting better and better record after record. We really loved their "Bleak City" 7" out last year and we were more than pleased when the band proposed us to corelease their first full length. So "Short Days" is out now, 11 tracks of energy and catchiness often compared to The Observers or Social Cyrcle. Youth Avoiders with a bit more of melody can also come to mind listening this killer LP. The band has had the great idea of including some keyboard parts here and there. The album was recorded in Roy-de-Rats studio in Leipzig, and mastered by Daniel Husayn at North London Bomb Factory.
Taking influences from both sides of the Atlantic Exhaustion deliver an unforgiving hardcore assault. With ‘Surrounded By The Depths’ containing 12 tracks which weaver through many facets of hardcore bring medley of Scandinavian Kang punk, with the ferocity of Japanese hardcore, with a crushing sound similar to that of World Burns To Death and Deathraid. Simply put the Caen outfit are ones to watch this year as ‘Surrounded By The Depths’drops in April.
Two new songs from bordeaux Kalte Lust. These two new tracks bury you deeper in the gentle melancholy of Kalte Lust. Each of these songs explores its own aspect of coldness and darkness, from a slow hypnosis to a sour lullaby. The repetitive synth, the enveloping guitar and bass melodies, the haunted vocals remain the same from the previous releases but the band takes them to new level, opening a new window on a world of blackness. The lyrical introspection continues with sensitive words in French and English, contributing to the singular aesthetic. This fragile beauty comes in a great mat finish sleeve.
After a long delay due to rejected test presses... the records is finally arriving this week. Ostavka is a quite young band from Brittany, they had a demo and a first 7" released last year. Ostavka members have previously been in several punk/crust bands and are now exploring the coldest and darkest side of punk with lots of depressive and melancholic melodies. Beautiful guitar picking parts, chorus sound, tribal drums and incredible female vocals makes this first LP a perfect cold / post / punk record full of anthems.
